Our homes can have a bigger impact on how we feel than we realise.
When things are constantly out of place, unfinished or difficult to manage, it can create a feeling of overwhelm. You may find yourself putting things off, struggling to know where to start or feeling like you're constantly tidying without ever really getting anywhere.
And that can become a frustrating cycle.
The more overwhelmed we feel, the harder it can be to get started. The harder it is to get started, the more the clutter builds — and the more we can criticise ourselves for not getting it done.
House of Calm is here to break that cycle.
I don't believe you need more motivation, more willpower or a stricter routine.
Sometimes you simply need someone to help you make a start.
Our homes are where we rest, spend time with the people we love and recharge after a busy day.
When your surroundings feel calmer and work for the way you live, it becomes easier to find things, keep on top of everyday tasks and enjoy your space.
For families, this can be particularly valuable. Children live within the environment we create around them too, and some children can find busy or visually overwhelming spaces particularly difficult.
That's why I don't aim to create a picture-perfect home.
I want to help you create a home that feels comfortable, functional and manageable for the people who actually live there.
Clutter happens for so many reasons. Busy lives, children, work, big life changes, moving house, grief, downsizing or simply not having the time to deal with it.
Whatever has brought you to this point, there is no embarrassment here.
There isn't one “right” way to organise a home. I'll work with how you think, move and live, creating systems that make sense for you.
I'm not going to disappear into another room and tell you what you should be doing.
I'll work alongside you, helping you make decisions, keeping you moving forward and taking the pressure out of knowing where to start.
The aim isn't to create a beautifully tidy room that lasts for a week.
I'll help you create simple routines and systems that are realistic for your lifestyle and easier to maintain.
You don't have to organise your whole home.
One drawer, one cupboard, one wardrobe or one room can be enough to create that first feeling of achievement and calm.
Your home and your circumstances are personal. I'll always treat your space, belongings and story with respect and discretion.
I understand that traditional organising systems don't work for everyone. My approach is flexible and adapted to the individual, rather than expecting you to fit into a particular system.
We'll have an initial conversation about what's going on, what you'd like to change and which areas are causing you the most frustration.
There's no need to tidy up before I come and see you.
I need to see the real situation so I can help.
We'll decide where to start and what would make the biggest difference to you.
For larger projects, we'll agree a plan across multiple sessions so everything feels achievable rather than overwhelming.
This is where the transformation starts.
We'll declutter, sort and organise together, creating practical systems that work for the way you live.
You'll see progress as we go — because instant results can be incredibly motivating.
Before we finish, we'll make sure you understand the systems we've created and how to maintain them.
The goal is for you to feel confident carrying on without me.
There is no project too small or too big.
I can help with:
Bedrooms & wardrobes
Clothes, shoes, accessories and storage.
Kitchens & cupboards
Reorganising your kitchen around the way you actually use it, making everyday life easier.
Living spaces
Creating calmer, more functional rooms that you actually want to spend time in.
Bathrooms & utility rooms
Making everyday essentials easier to find and easier to put away.
Lofts, garages, sheds & workshops
Turning difficult or forgotten storage spaces into areas that are organised and usable.
Furniture & room layouts
Making better use of the space you already have.
Individual problem areas
Sometimes it's just that cupboard, drawer, wardrobe or corner that needs sorting.
You don't need to know where to start.
That's what House of Calm is here for.
We'll start with one space, make one change, and build from there.
Declutter. Organise. Breathe.
